The Power and Law of Attraction Part I

The Power and Law of Attraction Part I

"There is a supreme power and ruling force which pervades and rules the boundless universe.  You are a part of this power."  ~Prentice Mulford, a New Thought Author

Life is simple.  Your life is made up of only two kinds of things....positive things and negative things.  Each area of your life, whether it's your health, money, relationships, work or happiness, is either positive or negative to you.

In my case my health was negative.  At the age of 17 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  Most of my life I have been heavy and at age 32 I went through Gastric Bypass Surgery and was also diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and underwent the removal of a Total Thyroidectomy.  People who know me often ask me how do I still have a smile on my face, how do I stay so positive, how do I have the outlook on life I have, how are you so strong, how do you laugh and enjoy what life has to offer?

The answer is simple: I didn't always have the outlook on life I have now and it was not easy to get there.  I was transformed by watching the move "The Secret" and reading and re-reading the book "The Secret".  The Secret reveals how Law of Attraction works.  It took over a year and a half to actually grasp the concept of The Secret but once I did, things started changing for the positive in my life.  Great things were happening, my health was improving and my doctors were absolutely amazed.

If you haven't heard of The Secret then I encourage you to buy the book or the movie.  The Secret has been passed down through the ages, highly coveted, hidden, lost, stolen, and bought for vast sums of money.  This centuries-old Secret has been understood by some of the most prominent people in history: Plato,, Galileo, Beethoven, Edison, Carnegie, Einstein -- along with other inventors, theologians, scientists, and great thinkers.

The Secret will teach you how you can have, be, or do anything you want.  You will come to know who you really are.  You will come to know the true magnificence that awaits you in life.

The Power is an extension of The Secret, but you don't have to read The Secret to read or understand The Power.  Most people who have a great life don't realize exactly what it was that they did to get it.  But they did do something.  They used the power that is the cause of everything good in life.....

Without exception, every person who has a great life used love to achieve it.  The power to have all the positive and good things in life is love!

Love has been talked about and written about since the beginning of time, in every religion, and by every great thinker, philospher, prophet, and leader.  Love is the great est power in the universe.
Take a moment to think about it: What would the world be without love?  First of all, you wouldn't even exist; without love you couldn't have been born.  None of your family and friends would have been born either.  In fact, there wouldn't be a single human being on the planet.

"Take away love and our earth is a tomb" ~Robert Browning, Poet

I started reading The Power today, and after reading through approximately the 15th chapter I now understand why I have the positive outlook I have today.  It's because I learned to adapt to a new way of thinking.  And what I was thinking and what I was feeling, is what I was putting out to the universe and thought thoughts and feelings is what the universe was bringing back to me, whether positive or negative.

In Part II I will talk more about Law of Attraction and how you can turn your situation around.  Like I did mine.  If you would like to be notified when I add to this series, be sure to sign up to my blog.

Thank you for reading.  If you have any questions or comments, please post them below.

Have a blessed day!

The Law of Attraction Can Help You Find Love

The law of attraction can play a role in your relationship and your choice of partner.

According to the law of attraction, like attracts like. We see in the world what is within us. For example, have you ever noticed that when you are in a bad mood everything seems to go wrong? It seems like you can’t catch a break and that the entire world is conspiring to ensure that you are in a terrible mood: The waitress at the coffee shop is rude, the train is crowded with thoughtless commuters, and your coworkers are snappish.

Of course, in reality, the universe doesn’t have it in for you. Since you are already in a negative mood, you are predisposed to notice negativity in the world around you. Instead of noticing that the waitress is harried and overwhelmed, you might interpret her shortness as a reflection of her lack of regard, and the same goes for the commuters and your coworkers. When you are already in a negative emotional space, you will be much more likely to see negativity in others as well, and you will be much more likely to misinterpret people’s behavior and take things personally.

Luckily, the opposite is also true. When you are in a good mood, you will feel more upbeat about the world around you. This time, the waitress greets you with a smile and maybe a commuter even moves to allow you a seat on the train. You are not crazy: People really are responding to you differently, but it is not for an arbitrary reason. It is because you are in a good mood and people can read that in an instant, from the smile on your face to the spring in your step. They see you in a positive light and treat you well in turn.

The law of attraction also plays a role in our love lives. If you are bitter about a past breakup or cynical of the opposite sex, you will channel that bitterness and lack of trust into your dates and future relationships. You will likely end up with a partner who has mutual concerns — and this will spell major trouble down the road. Yet, if you are confident, secure, and open, you will likely find a mate with similar assets.

So how can you make sure that you attract a positive mate who will enrich your life?

First, you have to look inward and examine any issues that have complicated your relationships in the past. For example, maybe you have struggled with sharing your feelings, or maybe you have had a hard time opening up in the bedroom. Once you are aware of your issues, they become much easier to resolve.

Second, visualize what you want in your life. You might make a vision board on which you pin images, quotes, or slips of paper reflecting your dreams. Each time you look at it, you will be reminded to think positively and work toward your goals.

Last, be aware that the issues that annoy you the most in others are often the issues you struggle with as well. It’s known as “you spot it, you got it,” and it means that we respond the most viscerally to negative qualities in others that we have ourselves. The next time you are having a bad day or focusing on someone else’s flaws, step back and ask yourself: Why am I getting so angry right now? Could it be that I am seeing something in someone that I actually don’t like in myself? Once you realize this, you can move forward with optimism and better attract a mate who has the qualities to complement you and your life.

What is Mercury Retrograde?

Do you love that feeling you get when everything works out? You know, when you get to places on time and the people around you communicate effectively? Of course you do ... we all do! Well, savor that feeling because Mercury Retrograde takes effect in just two days. Don't shoot the messenger! Or if you must, wait until Mercury is direct (because the gun would probably jam, anyway).

Mercury, the planet responsible for our skills in communication, technology and transportation, will begin its three-week backward motion in Aries on Monday, March 12. During this time we are going to see plenty of hiccups -- communication breakdowns, traffic jams, text misfires and more -- in our day-to-day lives. The uncertainty of this fast-approaching period can be stressful, and uncertain to say the least.

What are the Mercury Retrograde dates for 2012?:

This happens three to four times per year, when the planet Mercury slows down, and appears to stop (station) and move backward (retrograde). It's an optical illusion, since there is forward movement, like speeding by a slow-moving train -- as it recedes, it appears to go backward.
I saw this on a road trip, driving alongside a moving train going slower than my little white Subaru -- it really does play tricks with your mind!

What are the Mercury Retrograde dates for 2012?:

March 12th to April 4th in Aries
July 14 to August 7 in Leo
November 6 to November 26 in Sagittarius, then Scorpio

What happens?:

Mercury is the messenger, and in this time, legend has it that mail vanishes en route. Some people find that their computers go on the fritz or phone lines go down. If you're at all jittery about it, go ahead and back up your important files. That's always a good idea anyway, right?

A Time-Out:

Mercury retrograde gives us time to catch up with ourselves, and reflect. Something from the past returns in a different form. People, ideas or buried insights that are keys to moving forward, float to the surface. Often it's felt as a slowed down, contemplative time, and depending on the sign, a chance to go over old ground again, to claim what you missed the first time.

Err on Side of Caution:

There's a long-held belief that it's best to avoid making set plans during the Mercury Retrograde. This means holding off on signing contracts, and forming partnerships and alliances. What gets put in writing at this time may turn out to need serious revising after Mercury goes direct. But since tying up loose ends is the domain of retrograde, this type of finalization might fly.

Can you repeat that?:

In our relationships, sometimes we gloss over things that pushed buttons at the time, but which we let slide. What seemed not worth the trouble may reveal itself as a major issue in need of our attention. The Mercury retrograde is a time for review, when the underlying patterns come to light.

Back to the Drawing Board:

Some dreams and goals get lost in the hectic rushing around of daily life. The Mercury Retrograde period can be a rich time of reflection on those longings. This makes it a time for the soul to ponder its destiny. You might look over old journals, review your creative work, muse on serendipities of the past that have pointed you toward your spirit's calling. It can make the retrograde period a time of solidifying a sense of your personal story and where you're headed.

What does it mean in each different sign?:

The Mercury retrograde is shaped by the sign through which it is cast. For example, a Mercury retrograde in Cancer turns the mind toward things like family, home and the invisible emotional bonds that connect us. On the other hand, a Mercury retrograde in Aquarius gives it a different spin, with a review of group dynamics, the larger human community, all from a detached perspective.

Making the Most of Mercury Retrograde:

Astrology is a tool that can make you aware of patterns, like those that come during a Mercury retrograde. Just observe and see what happens, and be open to the past returning for review. If it's coming back, there's likely something more to learn or release from it. You don't have to retreat to the zen monastery, but a little solitude and quiet reflection never hurt anybody.

Wondering how Mercury Retrograde affects you in your sign?  Check out Mercury Signs
(This is my reading: Mercury in Libra: Able to speak eloquently, with a gift for harmonizing ideas and points of view. A mind attracted to high ideals and refined expressions of life. Diplomatic. Shows cardinality when trusting clear sight, and takes risks to achieve real balance.)  What is yours?
If you have experienced weird/strange things during Mercury Retrograde, tell us your story in the comments below.  I'm sure we will see each others stories and relate to it in some way or another.  Ready....set.....go.!  Let the sharing begin.

BREAKING NEWS: Waldrep Wrap Weight Loss Surgery

The Waldrep WRAP is an economically friendly option for patients struggling with obesity.

In an economy that has everyone figuratively “tightening their belts,” it is sadly ironic that the increasing number of overweight people who would love nothing more than to literally tighten their belts continue to suffer. Trapped in a seemingly no-win situation, they can either opt to live with expanding waistlines and the myriad serious medical complications associated with obesity or financially extend themselves with expensive procedures they can ill afford — that is, until now.

Two highly respected professionals in the community, Donald Waldrep, M.D., FACS, FASMBS, and certified professional coach and advocate Lisa Janks Waldrep, J.D., CPC, are recognized leaders in the field of bariatric surgery (see www.TheWaldreps.com). Their revolutionary programs, combining advanced minimally invasive procedures with an innovative, “whole-person” approach to wellness and empowerment, have set them apart (see www.RxForRenewal. com). Now, this same sensitivity to their patients’ needs has led to the development of several unique alternatives to higher-priced surgeries.

“In the light of the strain of the economy and the fact that so many people are precluded from accessing necessary bariatric surgery to literally save their lives, Dr. Waldrep has come up with an intermediate surgery called the ‘Waldrep WRAP,’” Lisa explains, adding that WRAP stands for weight reduction assistance procedure. “Dr. Waldrep also worked very hard to be one of the few doctors who has independent and government reviews, allowing him to place gastric bands in patients with obesity that is ‘too low’ to qualify under traditional guidelines [see www.Band3035.com]. He also offers traditional gastric banding, gastric bypass and the newer gastric sleeve surgery to give the community additional weight loss options.”

The Waldrep WRAP is priced in the $5,000 to $6,000 range, compared to $15,000 or higher for other minimally invasive procedures in this area. Despite global economic pressures, multiple financing options are available. The doctor’s special banding price for both low- and higher-weight banding is $14,101. These surgical rates compare favorably to other surgeries that can run as much as $17,000 to $30,000 inclusively. Both the Waldrep WRAP and Dr. Waldrep’s low-weight banding study includes a variety of lifestyle elements designed to profoundly impact the patient’s approach to food from a body, mind and spirit perspective. Furthermore, these patients do not have to meet the traditional criteria of being 100 or more pounds overweight, thereby allowing them to address their weight gain in a more proactive way.

Dr. Waldrep, considered to be among the forerunners in the new era of metabolic and bariatric surgery, was appointed to the inaugural Bariatric Surgery Review Committee of the Surgical Review Corporation, which served to establish national Center of Excellence criteria for bariatric surgery programs. Always passionate about his work, he expresses his excitement about these newer procedures.

“This reminds me of 10 or 12 years ago when we were working on the models for bariatric surgery,” says Dr. Waldrep. “It’s exciting to be able to offer people something new and the chance to be among the first to look at how well overweight patients may do in a very safe and accessible way.”
Just as innovative and exciting are Lisa’s programs, designed to complement and promote success of the medical procedures.

“I’m creating a package that addresses the emotional needs of our patients,” she explains. “This program, combined with Dr. Waldrep’s surgeries, empowers patients to create lifestyle balance and a lifetime of vibrant health. Weight loss is a personal, multifactorial process that stems from an understanding of one’s own unique emotional and physical history.”

While for many patients, the initial attraction to the Waldrep WRAP and Dr. Waldrep’s low-weight banding might in fact be the affordability, the reality is that, when compared to other bariatric surgeries, they have the potential of being dramatically safer.

Utilizing advanced, state-of-the-art minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques, the Waldrep WRAP simply in-folds the stomach, so it reduces the amount the stomach can hold. This is done without cutting, dividing, discarding or rearranging the intestines. There are no plastic or rubber devices left behind that need adjustment, repair, replacement or removal. The stomach remains intact and, if needed, the stomach and intestines can still be examined.

“Scarring is minimal with these new procedures,” Dr. Waldrep points out. “Because the incisions are closed beneath the skin with very fine, disappearing suture, they typically heal almost invisibly within weeks. Another benefit to these procedures is the fact that patients can leave the surgery center on the same day and resume normal activity as comfort allows.”

Both Dr. Waldrep and Lisa emphasize that surgery is never intended as the “only tool in the toolbox,” but rather, they promote healthy, long-term weight management. This innovative empowerment philosophy provides motivational, inspirational and personal wellness techniques that help ensure their patients’ success.

To this end, their unique CURE Program is also available as part of the Waldrep WRAP package. The CURE Program includes a variety of lifestyle improvement programs and products to aid the patient in this journey.

Speaking with this inspiring couple, it takes only moments to recognize their sincere dedication and real passion for their patients and their work. Holding fast to their conviction that the patient’s full participation is integral to success, they have strived to make weight loss options as affordable as possible during these trying times.

“There’s no one perfect surgery,” says Dr. Waldrep, “but for that matter, there’s no one perfect treatment of any kind. It’s a question of what is best for the individual and how they are able to access it, understand it and work with it. Our goal is to offer viable options so that those who desire and need help will be able to get it. Even if you do have the ‘perfect’ procedure, if it’s not affordable and accessible, how is it going to help people?”

“We’re the idealists; we’re the crazy couple that think we can change the world,” Lisa adds with a smile. “We choose to give people options, and we’re very motivated to make that happen.”
In their ongoing efforts to make these options available to as many people as possible, they offer two locations, one in northern California and one in southern California. Both clinics are staf fed with highly trained, skilled and caring professionals.

Calling all Libras! Men and Women, this article is for you.......http://ow.ly/9o09c

Libra! This is all about YOU......

Libra! About Your Sign...

Libra is the only inanimate sign of the zodiac, all the others representing either humans or animals. Many modern astrologers regard it as the most desirable of zodiacal types because it represents the zenith of the year, the high point of the seasons, when the harvest of all the hard work of the spring is reaped. There is a mellowness and sense of relaxation in the air as mankind enjoys the last of the summer sun and the fruits of his toil. Librans too are among the most civilized of the twelve zodiacal characters and are often good looking. They have elegance, charm and good taste, are naturally kind, very gentle, and lovers of beauty, harmony (both in music and social living) and the pleasures that these bring.

They have good critical faculty and are able to stand back and look impartially at matters which call for an impartial judgment to be made on them. But they do not tolerate argument from anyone who challenges their opinions, for once they have reached a conclusion, its truth seems to them self-evident; and among their faults is an impatience of criticism and a greed for approval. But their characters are on the whole balanced, diplomatic and even tempered.

Librans are sensitive to the needs of others and have the gift, sometimes to an almost psychic extent, of understanding the emotional needs of their companions and meeting them with their own innate optimism - they are the kind of people of whom it is said, "They always make you feel better for having been with them." They are very social human beings. They loathe cruelty, viciousness and vulgarity and detest conflict between people, so they do their best to cooperate and compromise with everyone around them, and their ideal for their own circle and for society as a whole is unity.

Their cast of mind is artistic rather than intellectual, though they are usually too moderate and well balanced to be avant garde in any artistic endeavor. They have good perception and observation and their critical ability, with which they are able to view their own efforts as well as those of others, gives their work integrity.

In their personal relationships they show understanding of the other person's point of view, trying to resolve any differences by compromise, and are often willing to allow claims against themselves to be settled to their own disadvantage rather than spoil a relationship. They like the opposite sex to the extent of promiscuity sometimes, and may indulge in romanticism bordering on sentimentality.

good chance of success because they are frequently the union of "true minds". The Libran's continuing kindness toward his or her partner mollifies any hurt the latter may feel if the two have had a tiff. Nor can the Libran's spouse often complain that he or she is not understood, for the Libran is usually the most empathetic of all the zodiacal types and the most ready to tolerate the beloved's failings.

The negative Libran character may show frivolity, flirtatiousness and shallowness. It can be changeable and indecisive, impatient of routine, colorlessly conventional and timid, easygoing to the point of inertia, seldom angry when circumstances demand a show of annoyance at least; and yet Librans can shock everyone around them with sudden storms of rage. Their love of pleasure may lead them into extravagance; Libran men can degenerate into reckless gamblers, and Libran women extravagant, jealous and careless about money sometimes squander their wealth and talents in their overenthusiasm for causes which they espouse. Both sexes can become great gossipers. A characteristic of the type is an insatiable curiosity that tempts them to enquire into every social scandal in their circle.

In their work the description "lazy Libra" which is sometimes given is actually more alliterative than true. Librans can be surprisingly energetic, though it is true that they dislike coarse, dirty work. Although some are modestly content, others are extremely ambitious. With their dislike of extremes they make good diplomats but perhaps poor party politicians, for they are moderate in their opinions and able to see other points of view. They can succeed as administrators, lawyers (they have a strong sense of justice, which cynics might say could handicap them in a legal career), antique dealers, civil servants and bankers, for they are trustworthy in handling other people's money. Some Librans are gifted in fashion designing or in devising new cosmetics; others may find success as artists, composers, critics, writers, interior decorators, welfare workers or valuers, and they have an ability in the management of all sorts of public entertainment. Some work philanthropically for humanity with great self-disciple and significant results. Libran financiers sometimes make good speculators, for they have the optimism and ability to recover from financial crashes.

Possible Health Concerns...

Libra governs the lumbar region, lower back and kidneys. Its subjects must beware of weaknesses in the back, and lumbago, and they are susceptible to troubles in the kidneys and bladder, especially gravel and stone. They need to avoid overindulgence in food and especially drink, for the latter can particularly harm the kidneys.

PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE FOR YOU, AND THEIR SOLUTIONS

As with all sun signs, we all have unique traits to our personalities. When these traits are suppressed, or unrealized, problems will arise. However, with astrology we can examine the problem and assess the proper solution based on the sun sign characteristics. As a Libran you may see things below that really strike home. Try the solution, you most likely will be amazed at the results. If you find yourself on the receiving end of the negatives below, it is because you are failing to express the positive.

Problem: Finding yourself frequently trapped in situations that have no depth and little value to you or the other person.
Solution: Try not to pretend feelings you do not have and find a way to back gracefully out of a superficial relationship; look before you leap.

Problem: You find that you do not really like yourself and/or beating yourself up over not being able to please another.
Solution: If you learn how to please yourself without depriving others, then you will be able to please someone else.

Problem: The situations that make you ill at ease is only mildly irritating to another.
Solution: Try to cultivate inner security through spiritual strength and awareness.

Problem: Feeling like you are nothing: your actions being frustrating to others.
Solution: Developing your feelings of self worth by expressing the positive in your nature and not letting your elitist, class consciousness show.
